As a member of the Saskatchewan provincial volleyball team for four years her team won the National Team Challenge Cup and the Canada Games Gold Medal. Her successes continued at the University of Saskatchewan leading the Huskies to two Canada West Championships and a silver medal at the CIAU National Championships. After three seasons a the University of Saskatchewan she played with the UBC Thunderbirds while completing her masters degree in Human Kinetics. Upon completion of university, Leanne played on the beach winning nationals in the amateur division.
Leanne has achieved many individual awards for her exceptional play and leadership, including, three years as a CanadaWest All-Star, two years as a CIAU All Canadian and a Canada West Player of the year award. Leanne was also named to the Canadian National Team during her university career.
Leanne also has vast experience as a coach including coaching the Saskatchewan midget team and as assistant coach with the Saskatchewan Canada Games team, the University of Saskatchewan and the University of British Columbia. She has also presented at numerous conferences for coaching development.
Presently, Leanne is married, lives in Saskatoon and is a teacher. Leanne and her husband welcomed a baby boy to their family in October 2002.
